The Christ-centered 12-steps of LifeChangers Recovery
- I admit that I have lost control of my life, that my addictions, bad habits, compulsive behaviors and character defects are now controlling me. My recovery has begun.
- I tried to quit many times and every time I failed. Doctors can't cure me and society doesn't know how to "fix" me. I am learning that only God, my Highest Power, can
change my heart and restore what I have lost.
- I am learning to trust God with my life. As I surrender my will to God, His love changes me and empowers me to do His will. Recovery has become a reality.
- I must now ask God to reveal to me the areas of my life that I must surrender to Him. Only He can make the necessary changes in me so I can have a successful and prosperous life.
- Before I can proceed, I must take responsibility for my past and present actions. By reading God's word and applying it to my life daily, God puts me on a path to victorious living.
- The peace I have been looking for can only be found in Jesus Christ. He is waiting for me to give Him all of my addictions so I can finally be free.
- I've come too far to turn back. I'm learning to forgive, to love, and to humble myself. I'm a new person and my life now has real value.
- I am forgiven and I am forgiving those who have hurt me. I no longer look at who I used to be. I am pleased with who I have become.
- I am NOT perfect. I am an ever-changing "work-in-progress", a masterpiece in the hands of God.
- I will make mistakes but I will NOT relapse! God's love for me has changed me and given me control over my life.
- I know God has a plan for my life. He guides me by His Holy Spirit. I am seeking Him daily through prayer and reading His word. God loves me and I am special to Him.
- I have had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. I know the truth and I will share it with those who are where I was. Failure is NOT an option!
